Australian Technology Park update
30 June 2016
The sale of the Australian Technology Park (ATP) to a Mirvac-led consortium has been finalised with proceeds earmarked for reinvestment in the local area, helping finance major infrastructure investments in the Central to Eveleigh corridor, including the renewal of Redfern Station and development of the new Sydney Metro station at Waterloo, subject to government approval for these works.
The sale excludes residential development at ATP and Public Positive Covenants attached to the title will help protect the site’s significant heritage value. A further covenant enshrines the right of public access through the site. ATP remains an important part of the Eveleigh Railway Workshops history and you can read more about its fascinating history on our Eveleigh Stories web site. Mirvac recently placed a development application for Australian Technology Park on public exhibition with the public exhibition period closing in February 2016. You can visit the Department of Planning and Environments page for more details on its progress.
