Australian Technology Park

6 April 2015

We have been investigating the potential sale of the Australian Technology Park (ATP) since 2013, in conjunction with the development of a long-term strategy for the Central to Eveleigh area.

The City of Sydney recently published a review of the opportunities and risks relating to the potential sale. The City of Sydney’s review acknowledged many of the issues we are considering in-depth as part of our work on the Central to Eveleigh Urban Transformation and Transport Program and echoed issues raised by the community in our consultation to date.

We are seeking to achieve the best outcomes for the ATP and the broader area and will consider the strategies recommended. We will discuss with Council the issues raised regarding heritage, public access and future development and prepare a full response to Council.

There are mechanisms in place to ensure public access and heritage protection, whether or not a sale proceeds. We will discuss with Council any additional suggestions that have been raised through the review.

Any proceeds from the potential sale could be reinvested into much needed community infrastructure in the area. The final decision to sell the Park is yet to be made by the NSW Government. We will continue to keep you informed of progress through our website, as well as newsletters and updates.
