Upcoming work at North Eveleigh

12 May 2016

Transport for NSW has been working in North Eveleigh to upgrade electrical infrastructure for Sydney’s rail network over the past few months.

Earthworks and the installation of drainage and access roads will continue throughout May and June, with additional weekend activities including:

  • installation and testing of electrical equipment (Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May)
  • connection of power lines and testing of electrical equipment (Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May).

Further work will also be undertaken on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May if required.

From 14 May to 18 June, working hours on Saturdays will change to between 7am and 4pm. Weekday and Sunday working hours will remain the same.

Transport access to the site will continue via Wilson Street and Carriageworks Way. Vehicles will also access the roads adjacent to the Carriageworks building and the Platform Apartments on Carriageworks Way.

There may be increased traffic, workers and noise in the area during the working hours. Transport for NSW will take steps to minimise noise, including switching off equipment when it is not in use. Signage and traffic controllers will also help to ensure safe movement around the work site when required.
