Work at North Eveleigh

1 March 2016

Work to upgrade electrical infrastructure at North Eveleigh is being undertaken as part of Transport for NSW’s Power Supply Upgrade Program. This program will ensure Sydney’s rail network is able to meet expected power needs to support future timetables and the new generation of air conditioned trains.

A small section of footpath at the intersection of Wilson Street, Carriageworks Way and Iverys Lane in North Eveleigh will be closed from 7am on Wednesday 2 March to 1pm on Saturday 5 March 2016. This will allow an electrical pit and cable route to be installed safely. Signage will help pedestrians move around the work site.

Access to the site will continue via Wilson Street and Carriageworks Way. Vehicles will also access the roads adjacent to the Carriageworks building and the Platform Apartments on Carriageworks Way.

There will be increased traffic movements and workers in the area during this time. Some of the work may also be noisy. Transport for NSW will take every possible step to minimise noise.

Earthworks and the installation of drainage and access roads will also continue in March between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturdays. Signage and traffic controllers will be in place to ensure safe movement around the work site.
